Jazz Greats on the Vineyard Stage at Glenora Wine Cellars
Each summer, Glenora Wine Cellars welcomes reputable jazz musicians to their Vineyard Stage for the “
” summer concert series. The Vineyard Stage overlooks the lush vineyards and Seneca Lake – a perfect setting for an outdoor concert.
This year, the first concert of the series falls on Sunday, July 21st featuring the acclaimed acoustic guitarist, Peter White. This is his second appearance on the Vineyard Stage. Hailing from the UK, Peter maintains a reputation of one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists in the contemporary jazz scene. With great energy and lyricism, he combines elements of jazz, pop, and classical guitar to create a singular, yet accessible sound pleasing to all.
On August 18th, the Vineyard Stage excitedly welcomes “Jazz Funk Soul” featuring guitarist Chuck Loeb, keyboard giant Jeff Lorber, and Everette Harp on the saxophone. Well established in the contemporary jazz world, these three “greats” on the stage at once will make for a truly unbelievable afternoon. Jeff, a pioneer of the jazz fusion movement, combines traditional jazz with elements of rock, R&B, funk, and other electrified sounds. On guitar, Chuck champions contemporary jazz while Everette’s talents on the saxophone combine jazz, blues and gospel. It will be an amazing union of styles and talents.
For these events, the gates open at 12:00 p.m. with the concerts starting at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $28.00 and will go on rain or shine. There is plenty of lawn seating available for concert attendees and it is recommended to bring blankets, chairs, and picnic items although food and beverages including Glenora wines will be available for purchase all day.
